Chay Ya

CHAY – YA Austria (Association for the global fight against poverty and for promoting social and educational development) is an organization that operates primarily in the Nepalese Himalayas in sustainable poverty alleviation.

The projects range from emergency humanitarian development aid (building up hygiene and medical care camps, toilets, water filters, etc.) up to sponsoring the education of children, medical education of adults, and the construction of sustainable ecotourism lodges. Our projects are based on the aim to offer people at risk of poverty the chance to help themselves out of poverty.

Sabine Klotz, residing between Vorarlberg / Vienna, studies since 2007 International Development and South Asian Studies at University of Vienna, and speaks due to her visits to Nepal and India Hindi, which is important for organizing the projects and communication with the locals.

Patrick Forster, living in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, is an enthusiastic zookeeper, mountaineer and climber, who like to do things with his own hands, whether building up schools or organizing charity events.
